The National Broadband Network will get a local focus in a bid to improve the service in regional Australia.
Launched yesterday by NBN Co, the NBN local teams will be sent out across regional Australia to help people and businesses understand the National Broadband Network.
The teams will have community relational professionals, network engineers and deployment specialists working to help identify and fix problems across the network.
NBN Co general manager Peter Gurney said the teams would help improve customer experiences.
‘‘With the rollout more than halfway complete and around three million homes and businesses now connected to the network, it is more important than ever we continue to educate local communities on the status of the build, what they need to do to connect as well as how to resolve any issues,’’ he said.
He stressed that people should still go to their internet service provider as a first port of call if they experienced any problems, and that the NBN local team would work with local stakeholders and community groups to help find and address local problems.
